A plastic bag, graceful,
Caught on the wind,
Dancing solo on the stormy sky,
Empties its contents as it breezes by.
It spirals high,
Snagged on power lines,
Torn on tree branches,
Getting lost in the gathering gray clouds.
It's descent is quick.
Fuelled by the pattering rain, it lands,
Rolling like a tumbleweed on the hard ground.
It crinkles loudly as the winds howl.
Fragile and feather-light,
It gets pulled beneath tires;
Dragged along rough roads
And skidding through stinking puddles.
Weighted down by the elements,
Sodden and down trodden,
It lies in a soaking heap by the side of the road;
Waiting for the return of the sun…
I wanted the title of this to really drive the point home...

The idea for this one I blame on my sister. I was driving her to work today and she noticed a plastic bag in the air. She pointed out how graceful it looked, soaring on the air. Made me think how sad it was...
Instant inspiration.

What do you think?

I also like this one alot. I saw a potato chip bag practically levitating across the road. It was remaining a steady height from the road, and crossed at a steady pace. It almost looked like it was a natural thing for it to do.
