Literature Text

laugh and smile while time allows,
no worry for laugh lines adorning brows.
shriek at friends with sounds of mirth,
bellowing inane hilarity to the ends of the earth!
bask in sunlight and affable taunts,
scribble in the margins as messily as you want.
relish in ice-pops, dribbling down white shirts,
even when mother glares at the smudges and dirt.
run for the joy of the wind in your hair,
make sure that your feet are perfectly bare
as you play games and dance in tall grass.
the beauty of grass stains cannot be surpassed.

this message is for all who hear
the beauty of childhood must be held dear.

always.
I wrote this for a contest and I cannot for the life of me remember what group it was... If you know, let me know?
The prompt was "When I was a little..."

I found it. It was :iconlooselacespoetry:

I put this in blank/free verse because it does not strictly hold to any form. It is VERY sonnet-y but I didn't take meter into account. Shall I move it to fixed verse?

This is awesome. The rhyming is not forced or trite. It is very classic.
